Logos with icons get noticed in social media

I’ve recently designed a slew of logos that all have one thing in common. Each one has an “icon” associated with the word mark and each one was influenced by the constraints of social media. I’ve always been a big proponent of developing icons as it adds a unique property to the logo, and creates a shortcut for people to use to identify their brand. While icons have been around for years, it’s the overall shape of the icon that I found myself studying. It’s just square. At first I didn’t realize I was even doing it and now I actually seek to create icons with square shapes. (more…)
