Rhizome Puts Roman Meal Milling Company Into The Hopper

Seattle, WA - Roman Meal Milling Company (RMMC) has hired Rhizome to be its new branding and marketing firm. Phase One of the project will be a brand strategy review that will focus on creating a new message platform and positioning for RMMC. Phase Two will involve a new logo design, capabilities brochure, updated web site, sell sheets, power point templates, photography, stationery system, and an advertising campaign. The focus of the entire project will be to enhance communication within the company as well as to the ever-growing external customer base.

Located in Fargo, North Dakota, RMMC is a family-owned specialty grain miller that provides custom multi-grain bases to the wholesale baking industry. Founded in 1969, RMMC is known for its longstanding relationship with Roman Meal Bread Company, however, today RMMC is an independently owned and operated company is the trusted ingredient for the most sought after brand-name variety breads, cereals, and crackers in North America.

Elliott Bay Brewing Company Toasts Rhizome

Seattle, WA - Elliott Bay Brewing Company, a Northwest premium handcrafted brewer, has picked Rhizome for a three-stage rebranding and marketing project. Known for the delightful brews and great food that are the hallmark of their West Seattle location, the new branding push is part of the company's strategic expansion that includes the opening of a new brewhouse and pub in Burien, WA. The assignment will include a new corporate logo for the overarching Elliott Bay Brewing Company, as well as a new logo for the Elliott Bay Brewhouse in Burien, and a revamping of the existing West Seattle Elliott Bay Brewery Pub materials.

Seattle, WA - Rhizome Design is pleased to announce its work is the recipient of two Gold 2005 MarCom Creative Awards. The first Gold Award was garnered for Rhizome's own Web site launched in August 2005 in the category of Web site/Overall site. The second Gold Award was received for Rhizome's efforts towards implementing a new brand design strategy for Codesic Consulting. The Codesic Consulting award was in the Marketing/Promotion/Corporate Identity category and included a logo upgrade, brochure, stationery and presentation materials and new Web site (www.codesic.com).

Submitted by Rhizome in September 2005, both entries were part of the competitive judging of more than 4,600 entries from around the globe. The MarCom Creative Awards is part of The Communicator Awards, one of the largest, oldest, and most respected competitions in the communication field. Founded over ten years ago, each entry is judged against itself and the judges base their decisions on learned perceptions of creative excellence rather than an entrant's imaginative explanation of an entries value.

Woodland Hills, CA - Valley Cultural Center and The Madrid Theatre, two of Los Angeles' premiere community-oriented arts organizations has asked Rhizome to be their agency of choice. Working in tandem with the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department, Valley Cultural Center and The Madrid Theatre bring world-class art, entertainment, and arts education to the entire San Fernando Valley.

The relationship with the two organizations began over a year ago when Rhizome was picked to help The Madrid Theatre launch its new programming format. Rhizome upgraded the Madrid's logo, created a new Web site from the ground up, and shepherded their marketing effort to the community. On the heels of that success, Valley Cultural Center asked Rhizome to re-brand their image. To date, Rhizome has implemented a total redesign of the Valley Cultural Center Web site, reshaped their annual programs, and upgraded Valley Cultural Center's logo as well as the logo used for their renown Concerts in the Park, a performance extravaganza that entertains more than 140,000 Valley residents each year. An ongoing collaboration, Rhizome is responsible for helping The Madrid and Valley Cultural Center market the many concerts, exhibitions, educational programs, special events, and arts scholarships that are the hallmark of these unique organizations.

Carlsbad, CA - Melles Griot, a multi-faceted international company and major OEM supplier for the design, manufacture, and distribution of lasers, optics, and optical systems, has tapped Rhizome to design a new campaign style for their latest catalog, brochures, advertising and tradeshow graphics. The catalog, set to be launched at an international trade show in Munich, Germany, is the largest catalog Melles Griot has ever attempted in its more than twenty-five year history. Designed for their international marketplace, the catalog will reflect the Melles Griot bran, as well as the standards set forth by their parent company, Barloworld Scientific. The catalog will highlight the capabilities of the many "light-based" Melles Griot divisions and introduce a significant collection of new and cutting-edge products. Key elements from the new concept will be integrated into "larger-than-life" graphics for the tradeshow presence in Munich. Rhizome will design, art direct, photograph, and project manage all aspects of the new campaign.

Seattle, WA - Rhizome has been tapped to help two of Seattle's hottest independent record labels, Freetone Records and SeaReal Records, make their mark on the world. Freetone Records, a buoyant young jazz label, is launching its latest marketing campaign with a new Rhizome-designed logo. The logo will be a key feature on all Freetone new releases and marketing materials and is a "first-step" towards the re-branding of the hip, young label.

SeaReal Records, a start-up Seattle-based independent record label that fosters the best in rap, hip-hop, and R&B, has asked Rhizome to design a Web site in preparation for the launch of their first CD, SeaReality. A unique marketing project, the new site design will reflect the hip, trendsetting quality of the company, yet strongly position the label as a business-savvy company that can be taken seriously.

Boise, ID - Triad Distributing Northwest, a leading private label hardware distributor, has asked Rhizome to help with a major redesign of Franklin Building Supply's private label packaging. A significant player in the home improvement market, Franklin Building Supply wants to revamp its Heritage Hardware line. Working with Triad Distributing, Northwest, Rhizome will develop a template design that can be customized for other Triad private label clients. In keeping with its understanding of brand integrity, Rhizome plans to use bold, compelling images that reflect the industrial strength of the products while giving a nod to the tradition of quality and pride associated with the home ownership. A project that will combine the need for market-driven innovations with the realities of shelf-space demands, over time, the new design will be integrated into the entire Franklin Building Supply private label line.

Seattle, WA - Rhizome is pleased to announce its work with the Society for Technical Communication has won two prestigious Apex Awards: the Apex Award of Excellence, and the Apex Grand Award. The site was the result of a creative partnership between Sakson & Taylor, a Seattle-based technical communication and staffing company and the creative resources of Rhizome. Working together, the two firms revamped the STC site. Utilizing its extensive design and programming capabilities, Rhizome provided Web-ready templates that were handed off to the STC Web master for populating. This "template" allowed STC to flow in information as it became available without losing any of the design quality and logistical flow of the site. Along with the award, APEX's panel of judges had kudos for Rhizome's work on the STC Web site:

"Fast, elegant and superbly organized…. Very well implemented drop-down menus. Very clean home page. Effective news section. Extensive information on an enormous range of topics, but very easy to locate and navigate. Prime example of how to set up a large site."

Apex is the Annual Awards for Publication Excellence and is open to communicators in corporate, nonprofit and independent settings. Each year, Apex receives more than 5,000 entries in 11 major categories.

Town of Huntington, NY - In a nod to community service, Rhizome has volunteered to help the Town of Huntington, New York design new signage for a parcel of protected land that had recently come under its control. Located near picturesque Long Island Sound, the town needs new signage for The Henry Ingraham Nature Preserve, a 27-acre freshwater wetlands designated for public use. After reviewing the project, Rhizome plans to mix earth tones and colors from the multi-colored leaves that fill the Preserve's natural grounds to create a sign that is both practical, yet blends in with the diverse habitat of the Preserve. Rhizome will work directly with Margo Myles, Senior Environmental Analyst for the Town of Huntington, to complete the project.
