Pasadena, CA - Rhizome Design has just completed a new Website for the musical Songs From the Tall Grass. Built from the ground up, the new site is completed just in time for the show's 2007 summer tour of the Upper Midwest. Built as an adjunct to the original branding created by Rhizome to market the original CD of Songs From the Tall Grass, the site builds on the success of the show's logo and marketing materials.
A complex site that uses an energetic combination of XHTML, CSS, Java Script, and PHP surrounded by a hefty dose of outside-the-box thinking, the new site offers users a unique experience that mirrors the shows dramatic features. Designed like a hooked rug from the past that has been carefully updated with modern technology, the site takes users on a journey though storytelling, history, theater, and song.
The Home page Flash animation welcomes visitors with tall grass gracefully blowing in a digital wind. Static pages are peppered with Flash photo gallery animations that provide visual insight into the show's theatrical momentum. A JW Flash MP3 Player and a playlist created using XML, seamlessly brings audio to the forefront and users are able to enjoy samples of the musical offerings instantly, and in real time. A PayPal shopping cart with customized buttons makes purchasing easy and is pleasing to the eye.
A gathering of the best of design and technology, the new site supports the theatrical presence of Songs From the Tall Grass while offering users a clear and easy-to-navigate Web experience.
