Unique photography has always been a strategic part of the Rhizome Design process, and for years, Rhizome clients have benefited from our determination to integrate high-end images into our marketing projects. Our photography offerings include the services of photographer Robert J. Pennington who works closely with Rhizome to concept and create images that turn brands and campaigns into stunning, effective communications.
A full service photography resource, Rhizome offers custom studio and location photography as well as access to our vast collection of rights-managed and royalty-free images through Rhizome Images. An alternative to traditional big-box image libraries, Rhizome Images is a fully searchable collection with light box attributes for easy management. Photographs in Rhizome Images are also available as fine art prints.

At Rhizome Images our commitment to images of sustainability nurtures creative ideas and stimulates real growth through our Picturesque Forest Project. Imagine as an art buyer all you had to do was select an image to plant a few trees. No shovels, no messy work, just the good feeling of knowing your work helps support a much needed Tree ReLeaf Fund.
Building the Picturesque Forest Project is an easy way for creatives and art buyers to give something back without the hassle of a promotion or a sale. It is a simple action that takes no extra time yet ends with a big payoff. We have already passed our goal to plant 500 trees, and we’re looking forward to new projects and new plantings.
How it works:
Mae West once said, “Five will get you ten if you know how to work it.” We say, for every image licensed through Rhizome Images, we can donate trees to one of the American Forests ReLeaf funds, the nation’s oldest nonprofit citizens’ conservation organization. Here’s how your purchases work:
Royalty-Free:
- Web images (500 pixels) = 1 tree

Small resolution (1500 pixels) = 2 trees - Medium resolution (2500 pixels)= 3 trees
- Super hi-res (5652×3768) = 4 trees
Rights-Managed
- Any one Rights-managed image = 5 trees
- Rights-managed premium = 10 trees
- Custom full day photoshoots = 20 trees
Purchases from our collection or custom photoshoots continue to donate trees to various ReLeaf programs. We thank all our clients who participate with us on this very personal project. Recently, the Picturesque Forest Project donated 30 Trees on behalf of a Canadian client to the B.C. Wildfire ReLeaf Fund through Tree Canada. In the U.S., over 245 trees were donated to the California Wildfire ReLeaf program, and 22 trees to the Katrina ReLeaf Fund. Through one of our custom photoshoots with one client, we have been able to donate 260 trees so far to a Global Releaf Fund all through AmericanForests.org
