Emily Corey is an award-winning writer. She has received Gold and Silver CLIO Awards, the Belding Award, the Benny Award, and the London International Advertising Award and her work has been selected as part of the permanent collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art's "Fashion Archive Collection." Dedicated to clarity in communication, she believes language in marketing must reflect the integrity of a client's products and services while respecting the dignity of the end-user.
Prior to joining Rhizome, Emily was Editor of the Guess? Journal and did extensive work for that company as well as for Microsoft, the California Institute of Technology, Knowledge, Adventure, Virgin Records, Warner Brothers Records, Visage Beauté (a division of Revlon), Mrs. Gooch's Natural Foods Market, and The Karges Furniture Company among others.
Emily received her BA in History from the University of California, Berkeley. She is co-author of Songs From The Tall Grass, a musical about the homestead period that made its world premier at the historic Ford's Theatre in Washington, DC in 2001 and has received both the NEA Challenge America grant and the NEA American Masterpieces grant.
